snom phones are the first open-standard SIP phones with native Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 integration. They allow you to:

have incoming calls announced simultaneously on your desktop AND your snom phone;
search for names or phone numbers on the Microsoft® Office Communication Server via snom ActiveDirectory Search (snom LDAP);
see the current status of your contacts (free, not logged on, busy);
place secure calls both from your computer via Microsoft® OCS OR from your snom phone.

Sydney UC April meeting: Polycom & Exchange 2010

Polycom will be showcasing their end-to-end solution set integrated with Microsoft OCS 2007 R2. From the CX range of phones, the CX 5000 Unified Conferencing device through to high-definition room based video endpoints and immersive Telepresence products. We will be discussing our support of OCS R2 across our entire Personal, Room and Immersive Telepresence product line and the product roadmap.

UPDATE: now that Exchange 2010 has been announced, we will be doing a technical overview and demo of the beta.

When: Monday April 27th, 6pm
Where: Polycom, Level 15, 100 Pacific Highway, North Sydney

I had a tip from Dean Howarth, one of the convenors of our sister group in Melbourne. They are directing their members to the forums on DiscussUC.com. In the interest of building a bit of community around Australian UC users and IT pros – it would be great to see our members participating too.

There is a Microsoft specific UC forum here – but the wider forums have a lot of interesting content and I would recommend having a dig around.

There is visitor parking at Microsoft – enter through the main driveway
The building closes at 6pm, so if you are late please call Johann on 0404 723 784 to gain entry
